Bear Mead (bear86)  > Nature > Hanging Lake 5-7-2006
Well I guess Spring is here. Jamie and I took off on Sunday and drove right by a still-open ski resort and proceeded on to a hike in Glenwood Canyon, near Glenwood Springs, CO. I've got to say I wasn't that sad to have missed out on a day of snowboarding because I got to experience one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen in my life. It's called Hanging Lake. It's a little lake perched on the side of a cliff, filled with crystal-clear turquoise-green water, and fed by a stream of cascading waterfalls. As beautiful as I think some of the pictures are, it still doesn't do justice to the actual place. I hope you all enjoy and leave some comments.

Bear Mead (bear86) > There was a fallen tree that spanned almost the lenght of the lake. It served as a nice walkway to actually get out on top of the lake.

Bear Mead (bear86) > This is one of my favorite shots from the weekend. Not just because I'm in it but because I think it looks like something out of a magazine. Good job with the camera Jamie.
Bear Mead (bear86) > Here's a shot looking down on the lake as we hiked up a little higher to get some different views.
Bear Mead (bear86) > This is Jamie with the canyon in the background. This is another of my favorites from the weekend.
Bear Mead (bear86) > We scaled out on this rock that provided a perch a few hundred feet above the lake. The view was really grand.
Bear Mead (bear86) > Jamie and I in a self-portrait. Nice hair Bear.
Bear Mead (bear86) > This is me laying down on the edge of the cliff. It doesn't look quite as cool as I had hoped, but still pretty sweet I guess.
